Digital Transformation: Online Courses Learning Plan.

As we find ourselves in quarantine due to the Covid-19 situation, maybe this is an opportunity to improve our knowledge on digital transformation ?

We certainly can’t ignore the importance of digitalization. Firms that invested early in their transformation find themselves in a great place to continue to deliver value despite the challenges of remote work. For those firms, it is almost ‘business as usual’. For the remainder, the situation isn’t as favorable. Forced and accelerated transformation is required in order to insure business continuity.

To better understand what is going on, and where we are going, below are some courses that will help you become a subject matter expert !

Unless you want a certificate, most of those courses (Coursera and edX) are free. Linkedin Learning requires a subscription, but you should be able to access a free trial.

You don’t need to follow all the steps of this extremely long curriculum (about a year to complete at 2 hours a day of studies) : Pick and choose what suits your level or your interests best.

Step 1: Starting easy

First, we want to gain a good foundation on digital transformation.

Coursera offers good introductions on the subject:

Digital Transformation by BCG and the University of Virginia

Digital Transformations

Impact from Digital Transformation

Two courses from edX complete the introduction:

Digital Transformation and Innovation

The future of Work

Step 2: Intermediate Level

2 options to begin at the intermediate level:

If you are in a leadership position (14 hours):

Digital Transformation for Leaders

If you are more technology oriented (20 hours):

Digital Transformation for Tech Leaders

And then 2 courses to specialize yourself in a domain

For those very interested in SAP:

Open SAP: Digital Transformation

(Open SAP might require that you obtain a ‘P-User’ first. You can gain one by creating an account here: https://community.sap.com/ )

For those in the finance domain, Coursera offers a fintech specialization path with 4 courses:

Digital Transformation in Financial Services

Step 3: More advanced courses

If you are very motivated, you can go for a certificate on Digital Transformation on edX:

KTHx Certificate in Digital Transformation

This program is composed of 4 courses that are all free (obtaining the certificate isn’t):

Market and industry analysis

Strategy

Leadership

Business Development and Marketing

Step 4: Becoming and Expert

And to finish, if you still have time and motivation, here are two advanced level courses on edX:

Digital Transformation in Business

Digital Transformation Strategy

Once you are done with all that, don’t forget to add those certificates on your LinkedIn profile !
